​Dr. Bowman developed the Sexual Addiction Treatment Provider program in 2011 at MidAmerica Nazarene University, and it remains the only sexual addiction training for mental health professionals that is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and recognized by the United States Department of Education.
Dr. Bowman received his doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Oklahoma State University in 2008 and has been practicing professional counseling since that time. During his time at OSU from 2003-2007, he served as the Director of the Nazarene Student Center.
He continues to write and present locally, nationally, and internationally on topics related to sexual health and sexually addictive behavior, including the publication of his first book, Angry Birds & Killer Bees: Talking to Your Kids About Sex (Beacon Hill Press, 2013). Currently, he is working as the editor and primary author for the Christian textbook Reclaiming Sexual Wholeness for Harper Collins.
In addition to his specialized work assessing, diagnosing, and treating adults and adolescents with sexual addictions and attachment related concerns, Dr. Bowman has specialized training in stress management, anxiety reduction, and other affective regulation methods, as well as psychological assessment. He operates from a relational-existential Christian-integration perspective in his work, and regularly incorporates attachment, developmental, and neurobiological perspectives as appropriate.

​Rick’s own story of recovery has opened the door to help many clients who find themselves struggling with addictions, marital contempt, parenting challenges, and trauma-based issues.
Rick served as an associate pastor for many years, all while acting out in sexual addiction. His story was featured on the James Robison TV program, Life Today. Rick has lived sober in freedom and in health for over 7 years. Today Rick is passionate to help people–particularly pastors–work through their trauma-based compulsive issues.

Rick is a graduate of Friends University, with a Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy. He is certified as a sexual addiction treatment provider, as well as a provider of EMDR treatment (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a cutting-edge treatment for trauma recovery. Rick is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, American Association of Christian Counselors, American Association for Sex Addiction Therapy, and Kansas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.

Christine Presley is married to Rick Presley and has navigated the painful years of her husband’s marital unfaithfulness, all while living under the cover of pastoral ministry. Her story is one of character, love, boundaries, and recovery in trust.

The Presley’s story of restoration and healing is an amazing one to inspire us all. Their story has been featured on the James Robison TV program, Life Today. Christine has a passion to help couples struggling with addictive issues. Her story resonates powerfully with pastor’s wives who want to emotionally process their identity, the meaning of their partner’s compulsions, and how to restore true intimacy. The therapeutic ministry she and Rick are able to provide marriages is an inspiration to anyone who wants to hope again.
Christine is a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist. She is a graduate of Friends University with a Masters of Arts in Family Therapy. Christine has become one of the leading experts in partner betrayal trauma. She is a Certified Partner Trauma Therapist, Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist-Candidate, and is trained in EMDR treatment (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a cutting-edge treatment for trauma recovery.
Christine and Rick have been married for 23 years and have two adult children.
